Laura Britt, recognized as an industry leader in sustainability, heads one of the region’s most successful and versatile full-service design firms. Ms. Britt, the only Texas registered interior designer with a Master’s degree in architecture and her own American-made sustainable furniture company, is well-versed in both custom residential, as well as large-scale commercial design projects.
Laura Britt Design is an award-winning, full-service studio, specializing in turnkey services for the discerning client. By integrating architectural and interior design solutions, Ms. Britt and her design team create transformative spaces that are both beautiful and functional. Client interaction and attention to detail create the foundation for every project. By first listening to the client’s needs and desires, the team can then fully express those needs in individualized spaces so that clients are comfortable and nurtured in their surroundings. At a pragmatic level, the firm combines forward thinking technology and best practices with internal process and project management to maximize organized efficiency.
Ms. Britt launched her design company in 2001, with a clear vision to integrate her academic and professional training. Since that time, Laura Britt Design has grown from a one-person design office into a full-service firm with support services including procurement and logistics management.
The firm has won numerous awards from the American Society of Interior Designers, and can be seen in publications such as LUXE, Southern Living, Fine Homebuilding, Texas Design Guide, Texas Home and Living, The Austin American Statesman, Austin Urban Home, Austin Monthly Home, and Cooking Light. In addition, Ms. Britt has been twice honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award from Oklahoma State University’s College of Human Environmental Sciences. In 2012, Ms. Britt was nominated for an award from the Texas Women’s Chamber of Commerce. She acted as a National Media Representative for ASID, the American Society of Interior Design, and as their National Distinguished Speaker on sustainable design.
In 2010, seeing a need for a source for sustainable furnishings, Ms. Britt launched her second company, Vervano, an ecoconscious modern furnishings line based in Austin, Texas, handcrafted in the United States, and fully dedicated to sustainability. Vervano is committed to preserving natural resources, maintaining healthy indoor air quality, and reducing the distance the finished products must travel. Built to the highest standards and designed for performance in both residential and commercial settings, Vervano is focused on its customers, and the quality of its products. Each Vervano piece reflects that commitment.
